A letter to the ACL

This may get me in trouble...some people might not like this...but it's how I feel.

In response to reading this article ACL says coalition also to blame for greens rise I decided to write an angry man letter. I have written letters to them before, specifically about their treatment of homosexuality.

Dear ACL, just read an article where you blame the coalition as well as labor for the rise of the greens. You also warn against this citing the greens as a dangerous and radical left wing group. As a Christian I have been disgusted with the ACL countless times, I find you despicable. I would love to have a reasonable discussion on reason with you but find you so lacking and caught up in law like a Pharisee that you fail to see the radical Jesus as he is. The greens rise when justice, mercy and compassion go lacking from the other parties. I know the greens can come across as anti-christian but on their values they are the most Kingdom hearted party in Australia that I can see. Maybe they're not anti-christian, maybe they're just anti a fundamentalist right wing hate group. So while you claim to speak on behalf of all christians (you do not speak for me) I will continue to use my influence to denounce you.

When I say I have been disgusted with them countless times...this graph details the ACL's distorted view of what they consider important in the world for Christians and why they rile me up to the point of writing them an angry letter.

  1. It's cool how you can just start a lobby group & pretend to speak for a whole group of people.

If they speak for Christians, I guess I couldn't possibly call myself a Christian...

  2. So we could start up a lobby group called the Australian people lobby group and then just spout whatever hate we wanted claiming to speak for all Australian people. Or we could be the people who wear pants lobby or the lobby representing those that have beards...cos all bearded people believe the same thing right?

Could we take them to court and force them to change their name to the old fuddy duddy's lobby or something?

  3. due to Jim Wallace stating that homosexuality is worse than smoking re your health...I wrote another letter.

To whomever it may concern, I am a Christian Youth Worker and have gealt with youth who identify as homosexual. I need to be able to be there and support them as much as any other young person and your organisation has been doing them and me no favours whatsoever with your lack of compassion. Your perceived hatred and bigotry towards homosexual people reflects on all Christians and by your name you claim to speak for all Christians but you do not speak for me, and you do not speak for the majority of Christians that do support gay marriage. Jim Wallace's tirade in Hobart the other day was disgraceful and an ex client of mine who was present and that has attended and helped with the Christian camps I help run was deeply offended by what Mr Wallace had to say. I have had a gutfull of apologising for and defending Christianity to people like her. I am flabbergasted that you cannot see that the high suicide rate within the homosexual community has a direct correlation with homosexuals not being accepted by the community as equals. You are lobbying for those statistics to continue or even worsen. This is not loving your fellow man, this is you doing a great disservice to individual people and to Christianity. Most young people that I know will not step anywhere near inside of a church because they think the ACL (who yells and screams and gets lots of media attention) is an accurate representation of Christianity. Please re-evaluate your beliefs, the Church does not own marriage, you may say God does! Well the Church does not have a monopoly on or own God either. Does the ACL need to move with justice, mercy and compassion or face the condemnation of history as it rolls over its blinkered worldview? That's for you guys to figure out I guess.
